Your cancellation letter
[Full name] [Street address] [City, State ZIP] October 31, 2026 Equinox Re: Membership cancellation To whom it may concern: I am writing to cancel my Equinox membership, effective immediately, or the earliest date allowed under my membership agreement. Please stop all recurring charges to my payment method after the effective date, do not renew my membership, and do not charge any fee that my agreement does not allow. Please confirm in writing the date my membership ends and that no further charges will be made. Please do not contact me with offers to keep my membership. I am sending this letter by certified mail and keeping the USPS record as proof of delivery. Sincerely, [Full name]
How to send it with proof
Print the letter, sign it above your name and mail it by USPS Certified Mail, ideally with a Return Receipt. Keep the receipt with the tracking number until you see the last charge stop. How to send certified mail.
If Equinox keeps charging you
Send the gym a copy of your letter and the delivery record and ask for a refund. If that doesn’t work, dispute the charge with your bank and contact your state attorney general. Your rights by state.
