Terms of service

Last updated October 31, 2026.

1. Who we are

Pratiq Heritage is operated by GN International Distribution Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 16456616), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Contact: support@pratiqonline.com.

2. The service

We request official records from Italian public offices (civil registry and town registry offices, State Archives, prefectures) and from parishes on your behalf, using the authorization you sign when ordering, and we deliver to you what those offices issue. We are an independent private service, not a law firm and not affiliated with the Italian government. We do not give legal advice, including on eligibility for Italian citizenship.

3. Packages and prices

Prices are in US dollars and include the office fees and stamp duties for the records in your package and shipping of the originals by DHL Express to one address. Records or certificates outside your package are quoted separately before we request them.

4. Your information and authorization

You confirm that the details you give are true to the best of your knowledge and that you are a descendant or relative of the person in the records, or are acting for them. Some offices require a copy of your identity document: we will ask you for it by email. We send the Italian text of your authorization, with your signature, to the offices concerned.

5. Timing and our persistence guarantee

Timings shown on the site are estimates and depend on the Italian offices. We keep working on your request, with follow-ups, calls and new requests to the right office, with no time limit and no extra fees, until the record is issued or the office confirms in writing that it cannot be found.

6. Outcome and fees

Our fee pays for the research, the requests and the follow-ups, so it is non-refundable once your order is placed. We cannot guarantee that a record exists or what it says. If an office confirms that a record cannot be found, we send you its written answer. If the details you gave turn out to be wrong, we search with the corrected details at no extra cost within the same town or province.

7. Consumers in the UK and the EU

If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of your order. By ordering you ask us to start work immediately; if you cancel before the service is complete, we deduct the value of the work already done, and once the service is complete the right to cancel no longer applies.

8. Liability

We are responsible for doing our work with care. We are not responsible for the content of records issued by public offices, their errors or their delays. Our total liability for an order is limited to the price you paid for it, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
