We are a small Italian team. Our job is dealing with Italian offices so that people who can’t, or would rather not, don’t have to. Pratiq Heritage brings that work to the families who left Italy generations ago.
Where we come from
Pratiq was started by Italians who have lived and worked abroad for years, and who now work from San Marino, right next to Italy. Living abroad, you learn quickly how hard Italian paperwork becomes from far away: offices that only answer in Italian, requests that must go by certified email, phone calls during Italian office hours, weeks of silence.
So we built Pratiq: an online service that does the Italian side for you. Registered letters, contract cancellations, land-registry searches, and now the records of your Italian ancestors.
Why family records
Millions of families in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Australia descend from Italians who emigrated in the last 150 years. Their birth, marriage and death records are still there, in the town halls, State Archives and parishes of nearly 8,000 Italian towns. For many families those papers mean a citizenship application, an inheritance, or simply knowing where they come from.
Getting them from abroad is where people get stuck. You need the right office, a formal request in Italian, an authorization the office will accept, and someone patient enough to follow up until the record is issued. That is exactly the kind of work we do every day.
How we work
- We read your order ourselves and work out which office holds the records, including merged towns, State Archives and parishes.
- We send the formal request in Italian, with the authorization you sign online.
- We follow up by certified email and by phone, in Italian, for as long as it takes.
- We email you at every step, then send you the certified PDF and mail you the originals by DHL Express.
What we promise, and what we don’t
Our persistence guarantee. We keep working on your request, with follow-ups, calls and new requests to the right office, with no time limit and no extra fees, until the record is issued or the office confirms in writing that it cannot be found.
Honest limits. Our fee pays for the research, the requests and the follow-ups, so it is non-refundable once your order is placed. We cannot guarantee that a record exists or what it says. We are not a law firm and we don’t tell you whether you qualify for citizenship: since the 2025 reform that depends on your line and dates, and a qualified lawyer or your consulate should advise you. We are not affiliated with the Italian government; we act for you, with your authorization.
